A Self-Contained Community Indeed!
OUR Mesa Neighborhood is a self-contained village community with a business center that can boast of a wide array of shops and amenities to meet the daily living needs of the neighborhood residents.
Located right at the central crossroads of Cliff Drive and Meigs Road, the business center has two grocery stores and a produce market, two drug stores, a laundromat, two dry cleaners, a used book store, a parcel and copy service, a telecommunication agent, a carrier service, a caterer, a pet shop and a pet hospital, a barber shop, several hair, nail, massage, beauty and wellness parlors, a gas station and a bank.
There are on-going negotiations to reopen the postal substation, which closed midyear 2008. There are over twenty fast food outlets and restaurants serving a variety from pizza (enough variety to be pizza capital of Santa Barbara!) burger and deli to tacos and burritos to bagels, donuts and coffee and other hot beverages to smoothies and other cold treats.
International cuisine on the Mesa offers standard American, Mexican, Thai, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. It also has a seaside restaurant right on Hendry’s Beach.
Our local professionals include doctors, dentists, accountants, eye care specialists, lawyers, chiropractors, child care service, real estate brokers, investment planners and insurance agents.
The federal government runs the Lighthouse; the state has its Fish and Game Department office on Cliff Drive.
True, we do not have a cinema screen here but an easy stroll along our magnificent shorelines or around the rolling hilly terrain with many secret winding paths, or a vista of our spectacular sunrises and sunsets from almost anywhere on the Mesa is, without a doubt, a magical experience.
Residing on the Mesa is as close as you can get to idyllic living. |
